Void Protocol
VOID PROTOCOL
The void is patient. The void is hungry.
You are the last defense node in a collapsing sector of space. Cosmic anomalies are converging on your position — drawn to your station’s energy signature. Your turrets fire automatically. Your job is tactical command: choosing upgrades, selecting perks, and deciding how to spend every last crystal of Dark Matter before the next wave hits.
Void Protocol is a roguelike idle tower defense. Every run takes you through 6 hostile dimensions, each with unique environmental modifiers, enemy behaviors, and a boss fight at the end. Between dimensions, you choose powerful perks that define your build. Between runs, you invest Dark Matter into permanent research upgrades. Death isn’t the end — it’s fuel.
WHAT MAKES A RUN
Every run is different. You pick your Core, choose your difficulty, and enter the void. Each dimension you pass through changes the rules:
- Enemies might phase in and out of reality
- The field might be on fire
- Gravity might pull everything toward you faster
- Your turrets might go dark every 20 seconds from EMP interference
After clearing a dimension, you earn a completion reward that stacks for the rest of the run — bonus fire rate, extra HP, passive damage, improved drops. The dimensions you choose shape your build as much as your perks do.
At the end, the Void Nexus is waiting.
43 DIMENSIONS
7 tiers of escalating danger:
- Tier 1 — Eases you in with basic enemies
- Tier 3 — Splitters and dense rocks join the fight
- Tier 5 — Guardians, voltaic rocks, and cryo rocks flood the field
- Tier 6 — The Void Nexus
- Tier 7 — For those who unlocked Ascension Protocol and want to push past the end
Each dimension tier controls which enemies can spawn — early dimensions keep threats manageable while harder dimensions introduce the full roster. No random tankers in Tier 1. No easy kills in Tier 5.
8 secret dimensions are hidden in the rotation. Some have a small chance to appear in any run. Others only unlock through dimensional chaining — clearing specific dimensions in a specific order during the same run. The Convergence requires clearing three Tier 5 dimensions in a single run. Good luck.
Every dimension has a unique visual tint, its own BGM track, environmental modifiers, enemy behavior changes, and a completion reward.
9 CORES
Your Core determines your playstyle before a single enemy spawns.
- Standard Core — No bonuses, no penalties
- Heavy Core — 150 HP and damage reduction, but fires slower
- Artillery Core — Extra turret, but only 70 HP
- Gravity Core — Slows everything nearby, but drains your own health
- Charged Core — Builds toward a devastating screen-clearing discharge that costs HP to fire
Four more are unlocked through gameplay milestones. Each one changes how you approach every dimension.
34 PERKS
After each dimension boss, choose from 3 perks (or 2, if you’re on a harder difficulty). Perks stack:
- Life Steal — Heals you on kills
- Chain Lightning — Arcs between enemies
- Gravity Well — Pulls everything into your turret range
- Burst Fire — Triples your shot output
- Volatile Rounds — Explode on impact
- Plasma Turret — Adds an additional turret that fires slow, devastating AoE orbs
Reroll if the options are bad. Banish perks you never want to see again. Every choice compounds across 6 dimensions.
19-NODE RESEARCH TREE
Dark Matter earned during runs is spent between runs on permanent upgrades across 5 tiers. Reinforce your core. Train your weapons. Expand your perk offerings. Unlock Void Purge, Matter Harvester, and the Ascension Protocol that opens the 7th dimension slot.
Dark Matter doesn’t drop from every kill — base chance is 5%, elites drop at 25%, bosses always pay out. Research and perks increase your odds. Every drop matters.
Research persists forever. Every run — even a failed one — feeds your long-term progression.
7 DIFFICULTY TIERS
Signal is forgiving. Broadcast is the intended experience. Interference, Corruption, and Collapse escalate enemy stats, reduce your resources, strip your perk choices, and weaken your research bonuses.
Annihilation doubles enemy HP, halves your dark matter, gives bosses every elite ability simultaneously, and shrinks the arena during the final fight.
Beat Annihilation and something else appears on the difficulty select. It doesn’t explain itself.
50 ACHIEVEMENTS
Tracked across 6 categories: Combat, Survival, Progression, Dimension Mastery, Cores, and Secret. Some are milestones. Some are challenges. Some require you to do things you didn’t think were possible.
ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK
42 dimension-specific tracks composed in FL Studio. Every dimension has its own music that crossfades as you transition between zones. Dead Silence is intentionally silent. The main menu has its own original theme.
The soundtrack isn’t ambient filler — each track was written to match the tension and identity of its dimension.
PLAY YOUR WAY
- Controller — Full gamepad navigation. D-pad and left stick navigate every menu. Right stick controls a virtual cursor for precision interaction. Works everywhere.
- Mobile — On-screen D-pad and action buttons. Landscape lock and touch-friendly UI scaling.
- Mouse & Keyboard — The default. Custom turret cursor matches the game’s military hardware aesthetic.
BUILT IN THREE.JS
Void Protocol runs entirely in your browser. No download, no install. Three.js handles the rendering — every turret, every core, every enemy is built from layered geometry and custom shaders. The segmented shield ring on your station core, the rotating turret barrels with muzzle flash, the reactor glow with radial bloom — all procedural, all running in real-time.
